Notes
- Operation of magical items (full day class)
- In a workshop like room
- Scattered arts and crafts
- Led by Wizard Velner Belpip and wizard yulna bilpip (there as a helper?), she seems to correct him every third sentence or so
- Go over scrolls, spellbooks, implements of power, etc.
- Scrolls and spellbooks you don’t need to know the spell, but it takes twice as long to cast because you have to read it
- Scrolls get consumed, spellbooks are reusable
- Can take these out from the library
- The library is hiring (part time)
- Why do mages have gems and crystals?
- They let you cast without using fatigue
- Has to have inherent value
- Power stones can be recharged at ambient magic fields
- 1 point per evening
- Different capacity per size
- Need to scatter them out or the larger ones take all the charge
- Manually charging power stones is very inefficient
- Can be affixed to items
- Power items are linked to the magic inside a person
- Can be recharged by taking energy from the person charging it
- Mythical items
- Created by people (or by ascendants)
- Example of magical items connected to power stones:
- The orb and the staff (2 items, one constellation)
- Currently kept by Kell
- Grand example at the wizards tower: Mythilar
- Large orb
- Extremely dangerous
- They tend to vaporize anything that touches it
- Don’t run out of power, super planar energy within a crystal sphere
- Low output though
- Durable, but can be broken
- The orb and the staff (2 items, one constellation)
- (Only the great beings are dieties)
- Can you imprison a god?
- The great beings defeated the ascendants who had rebelled while the great beings were medetating
- Now the great beings are keeping rathor from escaping
- The great beings are in urkog
- Homework:
