We gather further equipment this time: Rope, extendable light ladders, headlamps, pitons.
We are wondering if there is anything else that can help us, and as we are bartering with the gnomes for their airship ladder, we remember that the bronze tower in Mageport had a few jars of liquid light in it. We get nowhere with the gnomes on liquid light, so after stashing our dungeoneering gear behind the desk at the House of Bones, we head to the bronze tower to talk to Brillal Bronze Keeper. We are hoping that liquid light will light within the anti-magic zone.
Brillal shows us what appears to be a mathematical equation based upon an alchemical equation. The board is a wild thing of maps, squiggles, doodles, and notes.
Phaidros notes down some of the runes from the mechanical tower to see if Brillal recognizes them. Brillal is useless, but his plate armour has runes similar to what are in the tower. The glyphs on the wall (not similar to the runes in the tower) that Brillal used to activate the constructs are not magical, but they are glowing.
The liquid light is encased inside the chests of the four constructs. Solstice is invisible and tries to use flame jet to melt one of the liquid light caskets free. Battle ensues. Brillal drops and starts doing pushups at Phaidros' command. The robot's elbow locks up, thanks to Milo. Solstice twists the canister off from the tube thanks to Phaidros' help, and escapes.
We escape to the house of bones, and have a lovely conversation with Drak.
Drak heads out with us to the mechanical tower. He brings Irky, his magical flying snake along. As Irky hits the anti-magic zone, he stops flying and glides down to the ground. The orb of stars works for Drak.
We have also gathered tools in our pre-shopping to try to get the liquid light into the door cracks and then something to set it off.
Solstice is the sniper trying to shoot the puddle of liquid light as Milo closes the door to the room. After the first shot hits the door, the second shot is right on the mark! We reopen the door to the room, and the first door has been slammed up into place. Steam is attempting to push it down, but it is locked open. The second door looks to be shifted, and is very scorched. We try to do the same thing for the second door. A second explosion rocks the building, and the second door is opened!
