We go to Ecix's house

• We show him the mask, ask about his business, and he brings us to his office
• He tries to touch his amulet for defenses and the stoic guard cuts the amulet from around his neck in a very stoic cool move. Greatsword guard is now standing behind Ecix threateningly
• He serves Rathor. HE thinks this world is in a state of disrepair and Rathor can clean the slate and startover.
• They're going to sacrifice the kids, they need their blood for something. They're shapeshifters, most powerful when they're young. Open a portal and summon an elder being Caiphon.
  • We know about some elder beings from mad books of rantings and ravings. very eldritch horror stuff. Caiphon is trapped within the far realm (or perhaps just outside our dimension)
• Planar convergence allows for a very small gate. the amount of Caiphon that can come through will just be a small amount that will last a few weeks.
• Xataqar has been brought on by the cult for firepower
• Gakatash - Beholder is just doing his own thing with his own cult
